:: Sunday Adventures ::
Today Nick and I got up at the crack of dawn and drove to Huntsville, Alabama for church. We don’t do this every week, but on occasion our friend Derek (who leads worship at a church there) will ask Nick to play guitar in the worship band. This Sunday it was bass! Nick’s response, “Uh ya… sure… ya… I can play bass!” I was so proud of him learnin the set and playing it like a champ. I love being his cheerleader!

Ow Ow!!

After the long drive home we went grocery shopping. Whenever Nick comes with me, he likes to show off and carry our entire stockpile in with one hand. Hubba hubba!
Then the day took a turned sour… quite literally. I got super motivated once we unpacked the groceries and cut up the strawberries, made two big batches of cookie dough for upcoming events & started to make dinner. Chicken pot pies were in progress, and the last ingredient added (after a list of steps) was heavy cream. AFTER adding the cup of heavy cream, I realized it smelled sour. The expiration date read 6/13/2012… but after a smell & taste test, the batch was indeed completely sour. I had to dump the whole thing out, wasting two chicken breasts, carrots, celery, onions, & peas. I was so mad!
I went upstairs to use the restroom, and when I went to wash my hands I saw THIS in my reflection:

Apparently I leaned too far over the burner or something, because a giant hole was burned into my new favorite shirt. Not my finest evening. However a good cry over spilled (sour) milk and hug and kiss from Nick was all I needed. I cut the shirt into a head scarf, Nick ordered us Jet’s Pizza, and here I sit. Hoping the night keeps getting better.
I plan to capture a beautiful light show from these beautiful lightning bugs outside tonight. They are just mesmerizing! I’ll try and get a good one to share. Love you all!
