Fireflies have captured my heart, as has the south. I absolutely love it here you guys. My husband was my main reason to come, but I think fireflies were another reason God had me come. He wanted to give me a gift and boy fireflies have sure been one. If you haven’t seen them before, get on a plane and come to my house now. They are absolutely magical.

I stood in my backyard for a good while tonight just marveling at God’s imagination and creativity. As I stood there and watched those bugs twinkle and light up an otherwise dark air, God was able to turn it into a teaching moment. We are like fireflies, or at least we are called to be. We dwell in a dark world, one with very little light and hope. But we little lightning bugs have been crafted to light up during the dark times. Fireflies light up as a way of attracting a mate. I think it’s fascinating, because we are to use our light to attract others as well, but to draw them near to Christ.

Might sound like a silly revelation, but God really romanced me tonight and spoke through these little bugs. I hope you enjoy the video. And seriously… Come see these things. Unbelievable.
