Everyone needs a Chloe

I’ve decided to let you all in on a little secret to making your life more enjoyable. You need to get yourself a Chloe. I’m a firm believer that everyone needs one. “What is a Chloe?” You might ask. Well let me tell you. A Chloe is a rare find. She’s a precious friend who comes along once in a lifetime. She’s someone who knows you better than anyone. She’s a friend you can bring ANYTHING to, and will walk through it with you. She’s someone you laugh so hard with that your sides hurt. She’s someone who is up for any adventure you throw her way. She’s an insane sports fan, though you may NEVER know that by just lookin at her:) Get her to a game and you’ll be more entertained by her, than by the game. She’s a friend you call when you are at your LOWEST. She’s a friend you call when you are at your HIGHEST! She’s a beautiful woman who LOVES the Lord, and loves to talk about it. She’s a bible studier. She’s a wealth of information. She’s better than google. She gets embarrassed when you tell anyone that she was born and raised in Maui (she’ll hate me for telling you this). She’s a treat. Guys… Chloe is the best! You gotta get one.

In all seriousness, I’ve been thinking a lot about this treasure of a best friend that I have. God called my very best friend (Nick—sorry Chloe, he’s first) and I to Nashville, and while it’s been incredibly hard to be away from my family and friends, I’ve been so grateful for Chloe’s friendship. Long distance friendships are hard, but I’m so glad she’s been willing to keep our friendship maintained. We rarely miss a day of contact.

I wanted to write a blog to/about her so that I could brag about this gift God has given me in Chloe. We were introduced by a mutual friend (thanks Ashley!) and got to know each other when the three of us moved in together. I went through a ton of photos for this blog post, and just laughed and laughed reminiscing. We have a LOAD of memories, and I am so glad that God gave me a friend like Chloe for life. I imagine us as old ladies laughing our heads off and probably peeing our pants from lack of control.:) We had a falling out for a few months a couple years ago, and I will NEVER let that happen again. She’s a treasure and I have found a lifelong friendship with her. Here are just a FEW of our adventures. The list is endless.

Thank you Chloe for being my friend. I’m so glad to know you. Thank you for being patient as I transitioned into my wife role. Thank you for being a listening ear and a source of incredible wisdom. Thank you HUGELY for the laughter you bring to my life. Not a lot of people get me like you do. I am blessed.

Waiting to watch The Biebs at the Rose Garden. Floor seats. Summer 2010.

Lying in a pile of warm laundry at our first apartment. If you haven’t tried this… you must. It’s euphoric. Endless laughter. Endless warmth.

This was Chloe’s 24th (??) birthday. We saw a road sign for Swan Island on our way home from breakfast and thought that would be a fun adventure for her bday. Turned out to be this. Followed by getting her ears pierced for the very first time. I was honored to be part of that.

The day we scammed our way into Disneyland for a free day. I don’t know if I can admit how we made this happen… I’m too ashamed. What a fun adventure.

Anyway, hope you all are convinced that you need one. You NEED a Chloe.
