Date night

Nick and I have recently tried to make our budget accomodate a couple dates per month, because we think they are VERY worthy investments. Because of our nutty lifestyle (which we do love, even though it’s hard), we cherish those nights to be in the same state, and be able to just go enjoy each other’s company. July was looking pretty grim as far as quality time together was concerned, and so this date was much needed. We had someone give us some date cash, and we were so blessed to be able to go out with no budget limitations, and enjoy a night stress free! Nick picked a restaurant in downtown Nashville called ‘Merchants’ which was est. in 1892. We ate at the bistro downstairs. It was TASTY!

Nick got a colossal bowl of mac ‘n’ cheese. It had bacon, poblano peppers, green onions & tomatoes in it! He couldn’t finish it, so we ate it for lunch the next day.

I ordered a tasty french dip sandwich with caramelized onions, and sweet potato fries. YUM.

No we don’t sit on the same side of the booth. That’s a pet peeve of mine for some reason. This was for photo purposes only. I like to look my handsome date in the eyes!

We ended the night at Jeni’s Splendid Ice creams, which I think is supposed to be a little like Portland’s Salt And Straw (correct me if I’m wrong). The flavors are super interesting, and absolutely delicious. I’m bringing my parents & TJ here when they visit in September. They’ll love it. Look at all the flavors!

Nick ordered the roasted strawberry buttermilk & brown butter almond brittle, and I got the brown butter almond brittle and dark chocolate. Tastttty!
Thank you to our friend who blessed us with this night out (you know who you are), and I would encourage you married couples to MAKE These dates happen. They don’t have to cost a lot. Nick and I frequent the Starbucks on the corner in downtown Franklin, and just enjoy getting away from the house, and the distractions of work/chores. Its so important to have face to face time with your spouse, and talk about life. Hope you’re all doing well. Love to you all.
Oh and Nick….. you’re a hunk, and I want to date you for the rest of my life!
