Williamson County Fair

Nick was home this entire week, and we had SUCH an amazing time together. We usually have fun while he’s home, but I seriously felt like this was one of those special weeks that I was supposed to take a mental picture of — hope you’re picturing Jim & Pam’s wedding weekend, and how they took all those mental pictures, and did the camera hand motions and everything :)

We laughed SO much this week. We were just goofy best friends totally in love and enjoying each other’s company. July was a month of lots of time apart, and so I think we were just so glad to be able to be back into each other’s presence. I’m so grateful for the way God redeems the time we spend apart. Anyway… Tuesday night we went to the county fair, because I got an awesome half off Groupon… and what’s more fun than people watching and corn dog eatin at the fair?

Fairs in the south are so friendly. We got a ride down to the entrance by a sweet little man in a gator.

First up was a singing competition. We stayed and watched 5 or 6 of the elementary division. They were so cute, but I was a little disturbed at how some of these 10 year old girls could move their hips!!

First on my list was a corn dog. YUM. You can’t go to a fair and not eat fried food. You get a free pass at these things.

We thought about going on the ferris wheel, but this thing was going like 40 MPH. I was scurred.

Skee ball seemed safe:)

STUDDDDDDDD.

Next up were the animals. This little donkey (top right corner) looked SO sad! Oh and… I want a piglet. I must have one.

We found this guy all tuckered out on a bench with his hammer:)

SUCH a good choice.

And to wrap up the evening… I had to get a picture with the local celebrity.

Such a fun evening of people watching and walking around with my buddy. Guys date your spouse. It’s the best thing in the world. Nick and I have had to learn how to make dating each other a priority. Sounds silly, but its SO easy to slip into a routine rather quickly. Nick’s really been doing a GREAT job of romancing me and surprising me with dates. We don’t even spend much money. Sometimes its as simple as him telling me we’re going to McDonald’s to get an apple pie, or asking if I’d like to go with him to Starbucks and sit on our usual corner downtown and watch people and talk. You need dates. They’re wonderful.

Nick I LOVE YOU! Thanks for an awesome date to the fair.
